The donation took place earlier this year, and the then Minister of Justice, Pavel Blazek, accepted the donation without verifying its source. Pavel Blazek later resigned in May amidst growing criticism. Prosecutors stated that the focus of the investigation has now shifted to suspected money laundering and illegal drug trading.
