The U.S. Congress is demanding that the Treasury Department develop a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Custody Plan.

BlockBeats News, September 9th, according to Bitcoin Magazine, the U.S. Congress introduced Bill H.R. 5166, requiring the Treasury Department to develop custody and management schemes for the Bitcoin acquired by the federal government (including the strategic Bitcoin reserve).


The bill was submitted by Congresswoman Joyce of Ohio on September 5, 2025, and pertains to the 2026 fiscal year Financial Services and General Government Appropriations.
