BlockBeats News, January 1st, Coinbase's Investment Research Director David Duong stated that ETFs, stablecoins, tokenization, and clearer regulation will form a stacking effect in 2026, further accelerating mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency.

He pointed out that in 2025, spot ETFs opened a compliance gateway, corporate crypto asset treasuries emerged, stablecoins and tokenization became more deeply integrated into the financial core processes. By 2026, with accelerated ETF approvals, an expanded role of stablecoins in DvP (Delivery versus Payment), and wider acceptance of tokenized collateral, these trends will reinforce each other.

On the regulatory front, the United States clarified stablecoins and market structure through the GENIUS Act, while Europe advanced the MiCA regulatory framework, providing clearer policy boundaries for institutional entry. Duong believes that this marks an important stage for crypto to transition from a niche market to global financial infrastructure.

Furthermore, he emphasized that crypto demand is no longer reliant on a single narrative but is being jointly driven by macroeconomics, technology, and geopolitics, and the capital structure will also become more long-term, reducing pure speculative behavior.
