Powell: Interest Rates Now Within Range of Many Neutral Rate Estimates
BlockBeats News, October 30. Federal Reserve Chairman Powell: The Fed funds rate is now within the range of many neutral rate estimates. Some in the Committee think it may now be time to take a step back. Normally, the labor market is a better indicator than expenditure; but in this case, it looks more pessimistic.
All members of the Committee are firmly committed to achieving the goal, but there are differences in the approach. Some members lean towards pausing rate cuts, while others support further cuts.
