Odaily News JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said the Fed’s independence is “absolutely critical” to Powell and any future successor, and that “game the Fed often has adverse consequences” and could lead to “counterproductive results.”
Wall Street is closely watching the drama unfolding in Washington, D.C., as Trump and other White House officials step up pressure on Powell, whose term as Fed chairman ends next May, to lower interest rates and find a successor.
