Coinbase: U.S. Users Can Now Legally Participate in Crypto Perpetual Futures Trading on the Coinbase Platform
BlockBeats News, July 22nd, Coinbase officially stated that starting from July 21st, 2025, U.S. users can trade CFTC-regulated perpetual futures through Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM). This largest globally traded derivative product type will land on the platform.
Coinbase has stated that for years, U.S. cryptocurrency traders could only watch their international counterparts use one of the most popular tools in the digital asset market — perpetual futures. This innovative derivative product offers higher leverage and eliminates the need to deal with monthly expiration issues, accounting for 90% of global cryptocurrency trading volume. Due to a complex regulatory environment, U.S. traders have been unable to participate. However, this situation is about to change.
