Survey: US Investors' Cryptocurrency Holdings Surge 8-Fold in 2018, But Still Viewed as a "High-Risk" Asset

According to a CoinDesk report, a Gallup survey found that only 14% of U.S. adults own cryptocurrency, with 60% of respondents stating they are not interested in purchasing it. Only 4% of respondents plan to buy in the near future. The survey revealed demographic differences, with young men and high-income individuals more likely to own cryptocurrency, while women, the elderly, and low-income households are underrepresented in the field. Despite increasing adoption, the majority of Americans still see cryptocurrency as a speculative investment, with 64% of U.S. investors considering it "very risky."
