The average effective tariff rate in the United States has reached 18.6%, the highest level since 1933.

The tariff tracking tool jointly developed by the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund showed that as of the 7th, the United States' trade-weighted average tariff rate on all products globally has risen to 20.11%, significantly higher than the beginning of the year at 2.44%. The data shows that the United States' simple average tariff rate on all products globally has increased from 2.08% at the beginning of the year to 17.39% on the 7th. The global trade volume affected has surged from $2.8846 trillion at the beginning of the year to the current $27.47 trillion. A report released by the Yale University Budget Lab on the 7th, which has been tracking the long-term impact of US tariff policies, shows that with further adjustments to US tariff policies, its current average effective tariff rate has reached 18.6%, the highest level since 1933.
