Russian Expert: Russian-American Summit in Alaska Could See Proposal for Ukraine Ceasefire Plan
BlockBeats News, August 10th, Dmitry Suslov, Deputy Director of the European and International Studies Department at the Higher School of Economics in Russia and an expert at the Valdai Club, told Sputnik News that Russian President Putin and US President Trump may propose a ceasefire plan for Ukraine following their meeting in Alaska. Suslov said, "We should not expect an immediate ceasefire agreement, but should focus on a ceasefire conditions plan jointly agreed upon by Russia and the US, and push for entry into final negotiations to thoroughly resolve the conflict."
This plan may involve the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, while maintaining the current line of contact in Zaporizhia and Kherson oblasts as the final border, and Russian forces may withdraw from parts of Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
