A Scammer Posed as a UK Officer to Steal $2.8 Million Worth of Cryptocurrency

The police stated that this was a "highly targeted and sophisticated fraud," and the fraudster may have obtained victim information through a data breach. The fraudster claimed to have arrested a suspect holding the victim's identification and used this to create panic and urgency, persuading the victim to log into a cold wallet through a link provided by them.
