Trump: Will File Tariff Appeal to Supreme Court As Early As Wednesday, Stock Market Eager for Tariffs
BlockBeats News, September 3rd. On Tuesday, local time, US President Trump stated to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House that his administration will request the Supreme Court to expedite a ruling on the global tariff case in an attempt to overturn the federal court's ruling that multiple tariffs imposed were illegal. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the current trade policy. Trump said his administration will file an appeal to the Supreme Court as soon as Wednesday local time and warned that if the earlier appellate court's ruling takes effect, it would have a "devastating effect on our country."
He stated: "We will request the Supreme Court to expedite the ruling; we need a judgment as soon as possible." Trump claimed, "The stock market is falling because the market needs tariff measures; they are eager for tariffs." However, market analysis believes that corporate bond issuance and budget concerns in developed countries are the main reasons for the stock market decline. (FXStreet)
