In an 8-minute video posted on the Truth Social platform, Trump confirmed that the U.S. has launched "significant military operations" against Iran, and addressed Iran by saying, "After the operations are over, we will take over your government." Trump stated that Tehran's "threatening actions directly endanger the U.S., U.S. military, overseas military bases, and global allies." He claimed that Iran is "attempting to rebuild its nuclear program and develop long-range missiles."
Trump also declared, "We will destroy their missiles" and "completely eliminate their navy." In his speech, Trump demanded that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps "lay down their weapons," or they "will face certain death." He said, "After we finish our operations, we will take over your government."
