Japanese Prime Minister: Agreement has not yet been reached between the US and Japan, and Japan should not make concessions easily
BlockBeats News, July 8th: Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga stated that as Japan insists on defending the interests that should be defended, the (US-Japan) two sides have not yet reached an agreement. Japan will continue to engage in dialogue with the United States to seek a mutually beneficial agreement.
Through past negotiations with the United States, Japan successfully avoided a situation where tariffs would rise to 30% to 35%. The United States has proposed to continue talks until the new deadline of August 1st.
The United States' announcement of tariff increases is regrettable. So far, an agreement has not been reached because Japan has engaged in tough negotiations with the United States and believes that Japan should not easily make concessions. (Kyodo)
