Coinbase Plans to Add Tokenized Stocks, Prediction Markets, and Early-Stage Token Sales Business to Build an "All-In-One Trading Platform"
BlockBeats News, August 1st, according to the latest CNBC report, Coinbase is set to expand its services for U.S. users, creating an "all-in-one trading platform" that includes tokenized stocks, prediction markets, early token sales, and other businesses.
Coinbase's VP of Product, Max Branzburg, revealed to CNBC that Coinbase will first roll out these new services to U.S. users in the coming months. "In a one-stop-shop to trade anything you want on-chain... We are putting all assets on-chain — stocks, prediction markets, and so on," Branzburg stated. A marketing video released by Coinbase also hints at this concept of an "all-in-one trading platform."
In the prediction market field, Coinbase will face competition from Kalshi, the only federally licensed prediction market platform in the U.S. currently, as well as the globally leading Polymarket — the company plans to re-enter the U.S. market after recently acquiring the licensed derivatives trading platform QCEX.
Furthermore, Coinbase's tokenized stock product will also compete with similar products from Robinhood, as well as other cryptocurrency exchanges like Gemini and Kraken; however, these companies' products are currently only available to non-U.S. investors.
