BlockBeats News, December 21st, Ethereum developers have begun full-scale planning for the upcoming "Glamsterdam" upgrade after successfully conducting the Fusaka upgrade recently and reducing node costs. The goal is to launch in 2026. The name "Glamsterdam" is a combination of two simultaneous upgrades at Ethereum's core layers. The execution layer (where transaction rules and smart contracts reside) will undergo the Amsterdam upgrade, while the consensus layer (involving coordinating validators and finalizing blocks) will undergo the Gloas upgrade. The key of this upgrade is the proposer-builder separation (ePBS) and block-level Access Control List, which can reduce manipulation and abuse opportunities related to Maximum Extractable Value (MEV).
