Flow: Attack Scale Totals Approximately $3.9 Million, All User Deposits Secure
BlockBeats News, December 28, Flow official release on the exploit incident. On December 27, attackers exploited a Flow protocol layer vulnerability to transfer around $3.9 million in assets before the network shutdown. The attack did not access user existing balances, and all user deposits are safe. Currently, the majority of the $3.9 million funds have flowed out through bridges such as Celer, Debridge, Relay, Stargate. The attacker's wallet has been identified and tagged, and their laundering activities through Thorchain and Chainflip are being actively traced. The Flow Foundation has also submitted freeze requests to Circle, Tether, and major exchanges.
The protocol fix for the vulnerability has been released, and node operators are coordinating the deployment of this upgrade.
