The most recent funding round was led by Gala Games, with participation from Griffin Gaming Partners, Polychain Capital, and others. The raised funds will be used for game development and to support Shrapnel's global release and entry into the Chinese market.
It is reported that the game will begin closed beta testing later in 2025 and open testing in early 2026. Shrapnel's developer, Neon Machine, had a net loss of $11.4 million in 2024.
