BlockBeats News, July 3rd, a scammer in Nigeria impersonated Trump-Weisselberg Inaugural Committee co-chair Steve Witkoff and fraudulently obtained 250,000 USDT from a donor through a spoofed email address.
The U.S. Department of Justice stated that the scammer's email address differed by only a small margin in characters. The FBI tracked and recovered about $40,000 through blockchain tracing, with Tether assisting in freezing the related funds. (Decrypt)
