Opinion: The Fed is considering a rate cut, but it needs to see a slowdown in employment data to "give the green light."

BlockBeats News, July 31st, the market almost unanimously believed that the Federal Reserve would keep the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4.25% to 4.5% today, but there is a divergence in the market's view on the policy path thereafter.

Jefferies Chief Economist Mohit Kumar said: "In our view, the Fed intends to cut rates from the current level, but still needs to 'give the green light' based on signs of a slowdown in employment data. Once employment data shows weakness, they will initiate rate cuts." (FXStreet)
