BEP-2
BEP-2 is the token standard for issuing and implementing tokens on the Binance Chain, the original blockchain developed by Binance. This standard governs how tokens on Binance Chain should behave and defines a set of rules that all tokens must adhere to. The BEP-2 standard ensures that tokens are compatible with the broader Binance ecosystem, including Binance DEX (decentralized exchange). While similar to Ethereum's ERC-20 standard, BEP-2 tokens are used exclusively on Binance Chain, and any transaction involving BEP-2 tokens requires BNB (Binance Coin) for transaction fees. For example, Binance Coin (BNB) and other native tokens on Binance Chain use the BEP-2 standard. However, unlike BEP-20, BEP-2 tokens cannot operate on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), which runs a separate network.
