Hot Wallet

A hot wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet connected to the internet, allowing users to send and receive crypto assets quickly. Hot wallets are used for day-to-day transactions because of their convenience. They can be software-based, accessed through apps or web browsers, or hardware wallets connected temporarily to the internet for transactions. While hot wallets provide ease of use, they are more vulnerable to hacking compared to cold wallets (which are offline). Examples of hot wallets include MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and the Coinbase Wallet. Security risks include phishing, malware attacks, or the compromise of private keys, so it's crucial for users to employ strong security measures.
