Mempool
By: WEEX|2024/10/26 09:18:07
A mempool (memory pool) is a collection of unconfirmed transactions on a blockchain that are waiting to be processed and added to a block by miners or validators. When a user initiates a transaction, it is first sent to the mempool before being included in a block. The size of the mempool can fluctuate based on network congestion; during high traffic, transactions may take longer to confirm, leading to higher fees as users compete to get their transactions prioritized. The mempool plays a crucial role in determining the speed and cost of transactions on a blockchain.
