Non-custodial

By: WEEX|2024/10/26 09:43:46

Non-custodial refers to a type of cryptocurrency wallet or service where users retain full control over their private keys and funds. In a non-custodial wallet, only the user has access to the private keys, ensuring that no third party can access, freeze, or confiscate their assets. This is in contrast to custodial services, where a third party, such as an exchange, holds the user's funds and private keys. Non-custodial wallets are favored by users who prioritize security, privacy, and full ownership of their assets. However, they also require users to manage their keys carefully, as losing them can result in permanent loss of funds. Popular non-custodial wallets include MetaMask and Trust Wallet.
