What is BEP-721 ?

BEP-721 is the token standard for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Similar to Ethereum's ERC-721 standard, BEP-721 allows the creation and management of unique tokens that can represent ownership of digital or physical assets. Each BEP-721 token has a unique identifier, making it suitable for NFTs such as digital art, collectibles, and in-game assets. BEP-721 tokens are stored and transferred on the Binance Smart Chain, which offers lower fees and faster transactions than Ethereum.

If an artist creates a digital artwork as an NFT, they could issue it as a BEP-721 token on BSC, where it could be traded or sold on NFT marketplaces like BakerySwap. BEP-721 opens up new opportunities for creators and developers in the NFT space, providing a cost-effective alternative to Ethereum-based NFTs.
